We are excited to launch the new PMO Director role at Opera. We are looking for talented, highly driven, creative, and passionate PMOs to join a fast paced, forward thinking tech company. If you fit that bill, we suspect you’ll truly enjoy coming onboard!

We are hiring for each of our three major European business units, all of which are operating in the midst of a super exciting industry transition with the emergence of Web 3.0, with distributed services, blockchain-based offerings, user generated contents in more and more areas, and the metaverses coming to life - truly game changers.

These roles will see you build strategic relationships with senior leaders within Opera, as well as the wider teams. Through the power of coordination and a passion for driving projects forward, you will play a key part in the development of existing and new products to meet our ambitious goals. This is a great opportunity for you to take a leap forward on contributing to Opera's fast-paced product development and take a front seat as the Internet evolves to the next stage.

Reporting directly to the EVP of each of the three business units, and working closely with both the business teams and our finance and legal teams, these roles will be crucial for the implementation of new projects within Opera.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure progress according to agreed plans, internal alignment across relevant product teams, and make sure there is coordination and information flow between the business and the legal & finance teams
  • Participate in the creation of your business unit’s various timelines and milestones for products in development
  • Follow up and help drive and concentrate organization around deliveries
  • Ensure awareness and coordination vs. adjacent product teams or other business units
  • Involve legal and finance teams early when needed; build understanding and follow-up on preparations needed for new products, services and business models
  • Ensure all projects are delivered in an effective and efficient manner
  • Develop and implement PMO processes and policies

We are looking for

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in relevant field or comparable work experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Program Manager or similar position
  • Demonstrated track record of successful project delivery
  • Working understanding of data management and business intelligence
  • Experience working within the tech or fintech industries (consumer internet, blockchain, software or similar)
  • Strategic thinking skills and the ability to juggle multiple goals and deadlines
  • Personal qualities: Drive and impatience to move projects forward, good communication skills and strong analytical skills
