Opera is looking for a talented Accounts Payables Analyst to join the AdTech Opera team in Dublin Ireland.

About the position

The accounting and financial reporting team within Opera is responsible for preparing timely and accurate financial statements for the Opera group and its subsidiaries. Ensuring effective and efficient internal controls over financial reporting is inherent in everything the team does. As the company is growing its operations, Opera is searching for a new talented team member to fill the position as the group’s Accounts Payables Analyst. As our new Accounts Payables Analyst, you will be part of our Group Accounts Payable team, reporting to our Group Accounts Payable Manager located in Dublin, Ireland.

Opera is using Workday, a cloud based accounting system, and has a partly automated supplier invoice process, which you will help run and improve, together with the Group Accounts Payable Manager. You will be a key person for the AP function in Ireland, but will also be supporting the group's international entities. In this position you will be challenged with different tasks and responsibilities and get a broad understanding of the AP operations across the company.

Main responsibilities

  • Review incoming supplier invoices to internal cost reports and contracts Liaising with suppliers to resolve all incorrectly billed invoices in a timely manner
  • Entering all correctly billed supplier invoices to payable system
  • Create and maintain a reconciliation of all invoices to internal cost reports
  • Review cost accrual file for unbilled items, liaise with related suppliers to issue invoices
  • Following up of supplier invoice approval process to ensure invoices are paid on time
  • Create and maintain supplier accounts in the accounting system including related SOXs controls
  • Expense and supplier account reconciliation
  • Support with the month-end close of Accounts Payables area including preparation of SOXs controls
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong background in Accounts Payable, having good accounting knowledge
  • Knowledge of VAT and tax handling and reporting of same
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
  • Experience with group month-end close activities including internal controls
  • Ability to work on own initiative and independently
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and use discretion to multitask accordingly
  • Experience with Workday, our cloud-based ERP system
  • Experience in a multinational environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English, verbally and written
