The accounting and financial reporting team within Opera is responsible for preparing timely and accurate financial statements for the Opera group and its subsidiaries. Ensuring effective and efficient internal controls over financial reporting is inherent in everything the team does. As the company is growing its operations, Opera is searching for a new talented team member to fill the position as the group’s Accounts Payables Specialist.
As our new Accounts Payables Specialist, you will be part of our International Accounts Payable team, reporting to our International Accounts Payable Manager located in Dublin, Ireland.
Opera is using Workday, a cloud based accounting system, and has a partly automated supplier invoice process, which you will help run and improve, together with the International Accounts Payable Manager. You will be a key person for the AP function in Ireland, but will also be supporting the groups international entities. In this position you will be challenged with different tasks and responsibilities and get a broad understanding of the AP operations across the company.
Main responsibilities
- Accounts Payable
- Interaction with external suppliers, as well as internal stakeholders
- Create and maintain supplier accounts in the accounting system
- Review incoming supplier invoices and sent them on approval flow
- Follow up of supplier invoice process to ensure invoices are paid on time
- Travel and expense report review and approval
- Expense and supplier account reconciliation
- Support with the the month-end close of Accounts Payables area including preparation of SOX controls
You should have a desire to improve Opera’s accounts payable process and make it best in class.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in accounting or other related discipline
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Structured with attention to detail
- Experience with group month end close activities including internal controls
- Knowledge of VAT handling and IFRS accounting standards
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Fluent in English, verbally and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills essential
- Experience with Workday, our cloud-based ERP system
- Experience from a multinational environment
- Experience from a listed company will be considered an advantage
