Opera

Opera is building a new gaming platform that will reach our millions of daily browser users. Together with our sister company Yoyo Games and our gaming browser team (Opera GX) we aim to bring user generated multiplayer games to the masses straight in the browser.

This is an opportunity to join our backend/dev-ops team in Gothenburg Sweden, which has a unicorn track-record, to build the next big thing. You will work on the backend platform that will support both game developers and allow players to play games together, join tournaments and socialise. We’re looking for developers with a passion for technology.

Experimenting with new technology is in our DNA and our team is constantly cooperating to find better ways to build quality mobile apps and webapps. In our current project we have applications written in Java (Spring), Next.js and React.js that are deployed and monitored on AWS. Product quality and iteration speed are crucial to building successful products and we believe that CI/CD and automated testing should be a natural part of the development pipeline.

We expect You to have:

  • A dev-ops / system administrator background
  • At least 2 years of working experience in the area
  • Experience with AWS and Docker
  • Fluency in English
  • Self drive to develop new skills

An ideal candidate is currently living in Gothenburg or willing to relocate, though we are open to discussing remote positions for the right candidate.

We offer:

  • An international internet company culture with products that address a massive global user base
  • A flat org structure and friendly atmosphere where we learn and grow together
  • A place in one of the city's most collaborative development team
  • A flexible work environment
  • Great company benefits

Interested?
We will review applications continuously, so apply now! We are looking forward to hearing from you.
